'56 Chevy Needs Restoration
I am taking the ’56 Chevy four door Belair hard top I had in high school out of storage and am looking for the right person to restore the vehicle. The car has been stored in a garage all of these years so is fundamentally in good shape, but needs a ground up restoration.
Currently it is a 265 engine with three speed transmission (I converted from power glide). I am open to advice, but my general feeling is not to try to “blue print” the car but upgrade the engine/transmission, interior and paint. There are a lot of shops that specialize in this type of work, but I was looking for a person who has a passion for restoring Chevy’s, knows what he is doing and wants to make some $$. I am not in a hurry to complete the project, but would like it done within an agreed upon time frame.
Car is currently in Torrance California (just south of LAX)
Thanks

Awesome dude, thanks for this! Any Metalworkers/Welders in here. Would just like to share my experience with ya'll. A friend of mine bought some 1mm discs for cutting steel - these discs on ebay (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/smith-and-arrow__W0QQ_armrsZ1). They cut through stainless with ease. Apparently they are cheaper than just about all the other stuff around, but do the job just as good. Just thought I would let everyone out there know. We all need a good deal in times like these
