i am a bass fisherman

http://bassfishingdem.blogspot.com

I got tired of the politically charged rants on forums and started my own bass fishing blog away from all of that. I post fishing reports, techniques, tips, secrets, product reviews, and anything else related to bass fishing to help out fellow bass anglers.

Posted on Sunday November 8th, 2009 at 01:04 in fishing reports, largemouth bass, off the pier, fishing reports 2009

I didn't do a lot of fishing this evening, but I did catch one bass. I guess word never got out that the Scumfrog bobbing up and down had hooks. I also acquired a little bit of knowledge about bass behavior.I actually started fishing from the bank. S...

  • • A Shaky Controversy?

Posted on Sunday November 1st, 2009 at 22:45 in tips, commentary, jigs, shakey head

There are generally two styles of shaky head jighead designs. A plastic worm can attach to the head via a spring or a screw of some kind. Alternatively, the plastic bait can be threaded onto the hook and snugly pushed up against the jighead. I have m...

Posted on Tuesday October 27th, 2009 at 08:20 in commentary, baitcasters, shimano curado

If you've read my casting comparisons in the past, you'll know that I don't get too scientific about it. I spool up, tie on a lure, find the sweet spot that produces long casts without backlashing, and then make five sidearm casts. I measure the dist...

Posted on Friday October 23rd, 2009 at 17:54 in fishing reports, cross lake, fishing reports 2009

What a rough day! I started fishing around 8:30am and didn't quit until around 4pm. Not much to report. Water temps started out at 61 degrees at the launch. Most of the spots I hit hovered around the 63 degree mark. The entire lake was a giant bowl o...

  • • WBT Championship Day 3

Posted on Sunday October 18th, 2009 at 20:56 in commentary, general fishing, wbt

At the start of day three, this is what the playing field looked like. Judy Wong had a healthy lead with a weight of 30-13. The only person close enough to catch up was Pam Martin-Wells at around 22lbs. Although difficult, breaking 30lbs was still a ...

  • • WBT Championship Day 2

Posted on Saturday October 17th, 2009 at 17:12 in commentary, general fishing, wbt

Judy Wong knocked 'em around again today pulling in 15-8. She brought in 15-5 yesterday, so she's got the lead at 30-13. Lots of quality fish today. Also lots of not-so-quality fish. Looks like you were either on them or you weren't. Quite a few angl...

Fishing bonds the liberals and the conservatives. I've fished in Louisiana, Alaska, and all around New York State. No one cares about politics. It's all about fishing! Great site.

The author and I might not agree on our politics but we both agree that fishing sites shouldn't be about politics. This is a very nice fishing blog. The blog lay out is clean and the content is original. I look forward to reading future posts from this site.
