Just read another article on leet. Apparently some people now think |337 just isn't as cool as it used to be.

Some even suggest that |337 is the new sign of n008age.

What do you think?

I think I'm not geeky enough to participate in this discussion! *LOL*
    1. DaneMorgan
Which is probably a sure sign or maturity and refinement. So, you might take it as a good thing.
    2. melindaville
I know I'm not geeky enough. I was wondering if Dane was speaking English or what language? I didn't recognize it, that's for sure!
    3. drjay1966
      Me neither....
    4. JaneQCitizen
Whoosh it goes right over my head as well.
  2. timethief
I am not a leek speaker (using ASCII characters to replace Latinate letters) and I don't have a clue what you are going on about. I also hate text speak.
So would you care to try enlightening me?
    /\|2e I337 s7l|| ku||???!!!!!shift1shift/
    Translation please.

      Are lEET sTill kull???!!!!!!/
      ->
      Is leet still cool?
    2. timethief
Thanks voodoo. I wasn't up to focusing on that translation sheet on wikipedia and figuring out what it said. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet
    3. DaneMorgan
      Thanks VK.

timethief we all know you write this stuff on your bathroom mirror like it's your native tongue.
    4. timethief
No I don't dangit. Coping with learning disabilities I'm used to. Coping with migraines well, what choice do I have? I did find the translation key but I was royally peeved off that my sight is so bad today that I couldn't focus well enough to translate it.

      *&hearts* for voodoo
  3. ChicaX
    This is over my head..
    1. DaneMorgan
Or it may be that your head is over this stuff. It's all relative.
  4. Anok
I would have to say, erm, no...no it's not cool at all.
    1. DaneMorgan
That seems to be the consensus. Any reason why for you personally?
    2. Anok
I never thought it was. But I do like the term noob. And I think it's OK to write n00b and w00t but everything else is just silly.

I'm not real big on LOL language either, for that matter. I don't mind a few acronyms to make writing faster, but the rest is just nonsense.

      Besides, I prefer Pig Latin
    3. timethief
How about pig-less Latin? I can handle some.
      BTW I've always used n00b.
    4. DaneMorgan
I never liked LOL... Don't know why. Have no good reason. Just never did.

Do you follow the distinction between n00b and newb, with the former derogatory and the latter simply an expression of progression?
    5. timethief
Oh no! I did not know that. Thanks.
I have now officially changed to newb or newbie.
    6. Anniepooh
Haha, Pig Latin for the web.
    7. Anok
I thought both were derogatory within the specific context, actually.

Which, you know, is mean, but appropriate in some cases.
    8. DaneMorgan
I suppose they could both be intended as such, but n00b is formulated for the purpose, while newb is the same as newbie, and many businesses are actually built on helping self identified newbies.
    9. Anok
Well, I direct n00b to my youngest brothers all the time, anyway.

They seem to enjoy it in a weird way.

I have a sick family. *hangs head in shame*
    10. DaneMorgan
      Surely not.

Wait... Are Anarchists capable of shame??!!?
    11. Anok
      Oh, I don't know Dane, that's a good question.

      I'll ask our leader

    LOL = Lack Of Laughs
LMAO = Lame Men Are Obnoxious

    The truth has been revealed!
    1. DaneMorgan
Are you sure? I always thought it meant, "Leave Me Alone, Omar."
    2. Friday13
      Why?! What did I do?!
  6. earthlingorgeous
I don't even know these thing existed !
    1. DaneMorgan
Whoever said there is nothing new under the sun, didn't realize just how many things there are under the sun.
    2. timethief
I did but have religiously ignored them.
    3. Anok
      I hide from the sun.
    4. earthlingorgeous
I'm too exposed in the sun that my eyes have become blind .
    5. DaneMorgan
      [snark]
      @tt Religiously, you? Really?

@Anok Most certainly a good policy given your delicate nature, I'm sure.

@earthlingorgeous It takes dedication to maintain a title like that.
      [/snark]
    6. earthlingorgeous
uhmmm not really LOL! I just have to be myself
    7. Anok
It's not my delicate nature, it's that the balaclava is too damned hot in the sun.

      It's brutal!

But I am delicate, thank you for noticing. ( )
    8. DaneMorgan
You meant "myself, with a sun blind tan, of course."
    9. DaneMorgan
When are you going to admit that it's a Burqa?
    10. DaneMorgan
I have to be truly insane to be antagonizing three women at the same time...

Might be time to log off for a bit.
    11. timethief
You're not antagonizing me. My customers are.
    12. Anok
When I get a burka? Or burqa... heh.

      See:

      Balaclava

(Or, heh, go here and scroll down cgi.ebay.nl/Black-Double-Eye-Thermal-Balaclava-100-Cotton_W0QQitemZ31007759...)

      And, Burqa:

See how the balaclava is much hotter and meaner? (I mean, you know, hot)

Oh, I LIKE being antagonized though.

      Maybe I've said to much...
    13. earthlingorgeous
Don't worry Dane it's how men and women communicate, they simply antagonize each other but at the end of the day the WOMEN WINS! *snickers*
    14. DaneMorgan
You'll have to take a new pic to prove it. From the current pic it really could be either.

Come one, you've GOT to appreciate the juxtaposition of the Anarchist in the Burqa!
    15. DaneMorgan
Ha! I only have to let her win if I'm married to her!

((duck and cover, boys, duck and cover!))
    16. DaneMorgan
Was there a topic when we started?
    17. Anok
I have pictures of my on my blog! From the side! (But uhm, not like those other girls wearing balaclavas...I save those for my husband! )

Heh I appreciate that you used the word "juxtaposition" in a non art critique!
  7. DaneMorgan
Do you have any idea how hard it is to fight the genetic code and NOT type [hot girls in balaclavas] into the Google images box right now?!?!?!
    1. DaneMorgan
Ahhh... I messed up the placement. And we were doing so good.
    2. Anok
Well there's a link right in my comment to naughty girls in balaclavas.

      Sheesh!

Dumber than a box a' rocks!
    3. Anok
This is as naughty as I get in public:

    4. DaneMorgan
I think you should start a new blog.

      NaughtyAnarchistinaBurqa.com
    5. Anok
No, I have to lose 20 pounds first.

      And get better panties
    6. Anok
      Nooooooooo!!!!

      Ew ew ew...
    7. DaneMorgan
I wonder how many disappointed people click on these links...
    8. Anok
      *raises hand.....Me, me pick me!

      ROFLMAO....
    9. DaneMorgan
      You're so |33t!

I KNEW there was a topic!
    10. Anok
Oh, there was a topic in this thread?

      heh

      I am NOT |33t!

      I am a dorky nerd!
  8. DaneMorgan
    What were you protesting there?
    1. Anok
Dick Cheney. (rat bastard in my opinion)
    2. timethief
Well, rats have moms and dads. They are good very good parents and are extremely intelligent. Can the same be said of that cunning low life?
    3. Anok
      Not that rat!

      Oh, ha!
    4. DaneMorgan
Aren't they ALL rat bastards, by definition?
    5. timethief
SHEESH ... All offspring are the legitimate progeny of their biological parents. It's just the religiously challenged who insist the parents must be legally married.
    6. Anok
      Yeah, I think they are.
    7. DaneMorgan
But not all offspring are the socially acceptable heirs to their parents status.
    8. DaneMorgan
Actually it's a socioeconomic construct, not a religious one. Religion found it already in place and useful.
    9. timethief
Quite right but I do like to feign ignorance and stick my pitchfork in whenever there's an opening.
  9. DaneMorgan
Who said there's no chat room at BC?
    1. timethief
I shook my head when some members asked for one.
Like isn't that what this forum is for? DUH
    2. Anok
For a minute there I thought you were suggesting we get a room.

My mind is in the gutter lately, poor Mr Anok
    3. DaneMorgan
      I'm sure he'll pull through.
    4. timethief
      @Anok
That will pass - it's cyclic, in case you haven't noticed.
A month from now you'll be in the same state again.
    5. Anok
      Quite happily at that.

      Tired, but happy

I have noticed that...don't tell the mister it will go away though, he'll cry.
    6. timethief
I've been married for a very long time.
It doesn't go away - thank goodness.
But there are short recovery breaks.

Moving right along. How's your weather?
      Ours is gloriously sunny.
    7. Anok
      Yes, thankfully LOL.

But again, don't tell the Mister. he doesn't like hearing that

      Ah, weather, humid.

      With some more humidity.
    8. timethief
I'm steering away from your topic because what I write best of all is erotica.
SIGH maybe I should just go for it on a new domain and with a monetized blog.
    9. DaneMorgan
There's a major market for that.
  10. waynejohn
    I think it's pretty silly.
  11. kdawg68
For hours I've been scared of venturing into this thread as I had no clue wtf it meant. Now I see I've missed the discussion of the day.

So...if I may ask - does the blurb in the thread title really mean anything in "leet speak?"

Wait a minute. I don't even know where I am. I fee like Henry Winkler in that scene in Waterboy where he's supposedly on the phone...

    "but Grandma!!!"
  12. fairchildonrage
    1 571ll U53 l337! Count me in with 7h3 633k5!

They're handy at times and I think they're still the c00|357!
  13. Theresa111
Is this supposed to be a new date of when the world will end?
  14. kdawg68
I've never felt more like a Hall and Oates song in my entire life:

"You're out of touch, I'm out of time - must be outta my head when you're not around..."

I've no idea what's being said here - but I'm convinced that Kenneth knows the frequency.
    1. Anok
      LOL!!
  15. jobgolds
I am not good to make article.
    sorry
