My blog hasn't been updated on their site in over a month and I ping it every day. When I contact their customer service I just get an e mail message that says delivery error on it. Do you know if they have a customer service phone number? I am really upset with how they are treating me.

I'm having problems claiming my blog. I've tried 2 or 3 times a day for a week now. Thanks for posting this, I'm looking forward to some answers.

Technorati is not a qualified site now as their server always have problems- it's more than a year by now(problem)

    I have stop using it

They are apparently still working out the kinks from their physical location move. I've been able to claim my blog, but my pings have not been processed and are not showing up. Who knows when it will be fixed.

I hadn't realized that they moved. Now I understand.

I'm not having any problem with Technorati currently. When I had trouble in the past I published a post that may be helpful to you or not. Three of my 3 posts did not appear at Technorati so I pinged them manually repeatedly but got no results. The posts were not indexed so I contacted Staff and secured a reply that I included in the post.
    Technorati Indexing: Two Steps
Step 1: Increase the number of items in the RSS feed
Step 2: Set the RSS feed to full

BTW the contact link is at the bottom of every Technorati page technoratimedia.com/contact/

I used to have serious problems pinging Technorati, plus I changed the name of my blog but they still ahd the old name, thankfully it finally updated the other day!
    1. cltalbert
Chucklington, did you do anything different to get your blog to finally update on Technorati?

If your blog platform doesn’t already ping Technorati, you can configure your blog software to ping Technorati automatically by entering rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping into your blog’s configuration.

For more specific guides on how to set up automatic pings in many popular blogging platforms technorati.com/developers/ping/

timethief, what do you mean by increasing the number of items in your RSS feed and setting it to full? Do you ping your feed instead of your blog's URL?

Do you ping your feed instead of your blog's URL?

Yes. The details are in the post I linked to above.
      (1) In my wordpress.com free hosted blog I increased the number of items (post) in the feed. I also changed the feed setting from "summmary" to "full".
      onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/technorati-indexing-two-steps/

      (2) In my self hosted wordpress install I confured my blog software to ping Technorati automatically by entering rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping into your blog’s configuration.

      (3) If yours is NOT a wordpress blog use this link technorati.com/developers/ping/

I ping both of them or have been ever since Technorati quit updating my blog.
    1. timethief
That hasn't been effective so I recommend following the advice given above and configuring your blog to automatically ping Technorati when you publish a post.

If that doesn't work then use the contact link. Explain very clearly what's wrong and list everything you did to correct it. (Know that you can never ever provide too much detail to technical support people). Then wait for a reply.
    2. Chucklington
Well, I must admit I didn't upodate it for a while, so maybe that was a factor. But I had the ping problem for ages.

Truthfully, there is little we can do right now as they are still working things out. support.technorati.com is down right now, also check out their site performance here: grabperf.org/compare.php?test=1&tests[]=2&tests[]=36&tests[]=192&tests[]=277&tests[]=278 (copy and paste the link)

If you look at today's data, you will see that they were probably maintenancing their servers early in the day as performance dipped to zero.

As far as blog claiming goes, they seem to have implemented a new crawler to index blogs that may be interfering with your blog's acceptance. You can find the updates on their maintenance here: technorati.com/weblog/

I amazed it's down for you because I published a post on a free hosted wordpress.com blog and it was indexed immediately. Also, I have another window open and it's working just fine for me right now.

I'm in Canada maybe that makes a difference to which server(s) I'm on.
    2. trailofpen
Yup, checked support.technorati.com again and it timed out.
    3. timethief
I logged out and logged in again and it's up and running for me.
    4. trailofpen
btw, I'm talking about the actual subdomain support.technorati.com and not the main site www.technorati.com. The main site works for me, but as for contacting technorati to inquire about problems with pinging my site, their support site is down...
