Looks great, does it take long to cook?
    2. Getty72
About one and a half hours, plus about fifteen minutes to prepare. Worth EVERY minute!!!!!!! The best thing is that it is so simple to cook - even an idiot can't go wrong, which is why I like it so much

Is Bulgarian food similar to Greek Food? I love phyllo dough with Feta cheese.
    3. mugshot
Some dishes are very similar like Baklava, although there are many that are totally different which come from Turkish backgrounds due to being under Bulgaria being under Turkish Ottoman rule for about 500 years until the nineteenth century.
    4. Getty72
I love baklava... very sweet but great to finish off a nice meal.

My favorite dish is "Lu-sagne" It's the Lasagne recipe I created myself over the years. I haven't posted it yet, but I'll let you know when I get this recipe up. It is a total comfort food that makes you want to sleep and then wake up for more. Maybe I'll market that recipe in the frozen foods. It's all in the sauce and my special ingredient add-in when I build it. I make one Sweet-Italian Sausage/Ground Sirloin Marinara Sauce. A great dish for the holidays.

I learned how to make marinara sauce from my mom's friend who was from Florence, Italy. I grew up in an Italian Neighborhood when I was a kid.
    1. Getty72
That sounds great. I look forward to reading your post soon I love lasagne!!!
  5. crkian
One of my favourites is the curry our little ones make we give them the ingredients for the curry sauce and they mix it all together adding what they want and then we cook it, best curry ever.
  6. Tonylewis
Yes I love the yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. I also love donor kebabs, similar to giros? In the U.S.
Actually now you got me thinking about it I love loads of dishes, maybe we should have a top 10,lol. I love fish and chips too.
The list is endless, let's just agree I love all food, now i'm hungry. Off for lunch, probably a cheese sandwich.

I will also be posting up my mom's Chicken Teriaki recipe up on my blog. I have to save them up for when the season and time is right. The sauce can be used with NY Steaks or Porterhouse too.

I love cheap and easy foods that other people only eat because they're broke or in a hurry. For instance, tuna casserole is one of my favorite foods, as is a combination of rice, seasoned ground beef and stewed tomatoes served on flour tortillas. In fact, when I was growing up I called the latter dish "the best thing in the world" and my father called it "that crap that Tiff likes".
    1. mugshot
Talking of which I love mixed bean salad....simply put a tin of butter beans, a tin of kidney beans a little oil and coriander...Done

      Very tasty.
    2. Getty72
"The best thing in the world".... I like tuna, but have never tried it in a casserole. I will definitely give that a go! I am very much like you as I love cheap and easy food too. I'm single and live on my own, so tend not to bother to cook fancy food so often. I love your father's phrase too, lol!!!!
  10. Getty72
I totally love teriaki!!!! It would be great to see the recipe. I work for a Japanese company, and have teriaki quite often at work, it would be so amazing to surprise my friends and cook it myself.
    1. GetSmart
Okay I will create a post tonight for you. You can create this recipe with any type of meat. Chicken, Pork Spareribs, and Beef Steak. Read more on the post of how old this recipe is. It is being passed down from generation to generation. One day my daughters will cook this same recipe. Give me about 6 pm pst. Thanks and enjoy it. www.bizzyblogz.com/Holidays

btw, the color of the meat will look similar to your pork dish.

if we're talking about filipino food, then it's pansit palabok for me all the way and halo halo for dessert. i think it's the combination of taste and memories that do it for me.

Dish as in meal, I take it.

Hmmm. I like a lot of foods. *thinkthinkthink*

I'd have to say probably anything involving Mom's hamburger gravy. I'm not sure how exactly she makes it (I've tried to follow the recipe, but it never works quite right) but it is gooood.

As I recall in involves mixing cream of mushroom, milk, and ground hamburger. (Oh crud, I just realized that because of the cream of mushroom I probably can't eat it anymore. Wheat content. ToT waaaaaa )

Laksa, a great chunky spicy soup. Mmmmmm I really need to cook one now have not had it for ages.
    1. shadowknight
Not 5 minutes after writing this I was asked to cook tonight. So I am going to do a Chicken Laksa with s safe stir fry on the side. Oh, the joys of hsving spice snd non-spice lovers in the house means I get to do 2 dishes for the price of 1. At least I will have laksa for a few days
    2. Getty72
Sounds scrumptious!!!! Would love to see the recipe for those ones!!!
    3. shadowknight
For a stir fry I never stick to a recipe and each one I do is different and undocumented. The one tonight contained beef, ginger, garlic, chives, ku chai (garlic chives), curry plant, lebanese zucchini, and lashings of soy/ worcestishire/oyster and hoi sin sauces. My sister liked it, lthough I was a bit heavy handed with the ginger.

      Laksa though is simple.

      1. Seal the meat.
      2. Add 5 tsblespoons of laksa paste.
      3. Add 400 milll of coconut milk/cream.
      4. Add 600 mills of water.
      5. Add any vegetables you want to stretch the dish.
      6. Prepsre the noodles. The recipe says vermicelli, but I prefer Hokkien.
      7. Divide the noodles into bowls.
      8. Dish the meat/vegetsbles on top and drown with some of the soup.

Caution though it can be a very spicy dish. If you wsnt it cooler cut down on the laksa paste.
    4. Getty72
Thank you soooo much!!!! I'll definitely give this a try and let you know how I get on!!!! Thanks again

With so many people considering road kill a gourmet meal, these days--leading to the obesity crisis--it's hard to sort out.

I'd have to say Beef Stogonoff. (Is that how you spell that?)

Mmmm Beef Stroganoff. I haven't had that in years. Great choice!

Roadkill, Mmmmmmm haven't tried that yet. Although we drove past a pheasant that had be hit by a car only moments earlier. I did't have enough courage to pick it up. Maybe next time....lol!
