I can somewhat believe that. You are married and have a couple kids don't you? I suppose that could take a lil' edge off.
But never at all? You are sooooooooo lying. 8^)

Well statistically, I think the Kinsey Institude determined it to be about every 8 seconds for males.... For me it all depends on my mood, but certainly not anywhere near 8 seconds. =)

too often if i dont have sex during the days with a GF or lover ( im single for 1 mouth now) i masturbate at least once a day!
aarrg i can believe i tell you this
-
in fact i touch my pee pee every time i'm in front of my PC (masturbate before work i better for productivity and before a movie is better for concentration)

Yah .. what XIGHT said - but, I'm a faster typist
On a related topic - I posted an interesting Condom Ad from YouTube on one of my sites this week - www.callhart.com/crazy/2007/12/funny-durex-condom-commercial/ - that'll stop the thoughts ..
According to my refer stats www.callhart.com/crazy/refer/index.php?glimpse=7 I've had almost 7000 views in the past 7 days .. It's quite hillarious (probably NotSafeForWork) and needs sound. -

I asked this question because i wrote in my blog about the differences between how often men and women think about sex. And I had read somewhere that men think about sex about 10 times per day (i've never heard of it being every 8 seconds. yikes, how do they get anything done? :-)
and i was also saying that there are new drugs on the market that increase a woman's sex drive, and that if i had that drug when i was married, maybe my marriage and sex life would have been better.
so i decided to ask average everyday people (if we bloggers can be considered average everyday people) how often they thought about sex. And i must say, i'm shocked and aghast at how often people think about sex. :-)
Like trlrtrash13, I am also on a higher plane of enlightenment now and rarely think about sex. and like lotusinthehills i'm almost at a point where i don't remember what sex is. is that just sad, or is it enlightment? i guess its all relative. eh? -

When Aunt Flow is about to visit, my eggs scream to be fertalized.
I don't like the feeling cause i'm single at the moment lol -

yes, i think sex is very healthy too. i just don't have it that often anymore. so is it an age thing? and i hear that when you don't have it very often, your sex drive actually decreases. so the "use it or lose it" saying is very true in this case. jackpayne, sorry to hear you only think about sex once every 2 years. :-( And Zawadi, i'm not even sure i want to ask... oh duh, i just figured out who Aunt Flow is. I call her "my best friend" (in a very sarcastic tone of voice).
ok, so the whole "men think about sex 10 x a day" seems to be wayyyyy off. i'll have to update my blog on this new bit of info. -
On watching James Bond last night with the Lovely Daniel Craig, I found I thought about it more often
-
Since it's in every TV show, every shampoo commercial, every magazine, it's difficult not to think about sex all of the time. It's everywhere you look. The local TV station just hired a sexy weather girl, so even the weather is sexy now.
If it weren't for the media, we'd probably think about sex a lot less. -
-
hello and happy new year!!!
i posted some of your comments on my blog with links to your blogs as a thank you for answering my survey and being so honest and open (although some of you were a bit too open). :-) but that's what happens when you bring up sex, it opens the flood gates.
offended blogger, i'm glad i was able to help you make a career change. good luck in vegas.
i'll post more comments on my blog if more come in so feel free to post more of your thoughts on sex here. thanks. -

I have a feeling that almost everything is brought about by the sexual force within us all. Participating in the act of sex versus thinking about it has its pros and cons. Usually the cons are that the actual experience is short-lived but the thinking about it can go on for hours ... whilst we go about the chores and writing, we know it is lurking just behind the veil in our minds. This force is, I believe, what provides the thinker with the resources to continue in a civilized manner and in the end, producing works of art. So, I rather suppose it is more about passion than about sex ... because passion, lasts a very long time.
-
At least two times a day, I only stop thinking about sex when there is a live soccer game EPL....soccer/football game is more than sex to me..here come the RED DEVIL,..
-
Robeyf,
cleaning up with a kleenex?!!! uuuuhhhhh.
Teresa111,
huh? what? that went way over my head. :-) and whats passion got to do with sex. unless of course, you are totally into the person you want to jump. now thats passion.
I've been writing in my blog about how i never think about sex and never have sex. But now that I've reread my blog and this blogcatalog, i realize that its all i write about. so i guess i'm in total denial about how often i think about sex. i guess i need to rethink that. -
I get as much sex as I want from my Fiance, But I still think about it a fair bit.

I'll let you guys in on an honest to god secret about guys....at least for me and every other guy I've ever talked to.
When we meet a woman for the first time, a process occurrs in our brains that takes about 1/10000th of a second. It's a fascinating process that for each individual is slightly different. Mine evidently tends to look for a cute face, nice juicy squeezable butt, pretty feet with cute well pedicured toes, and a tan complextion - but the end result is the same in each of us. Our brains compute and spit out a simple decision:
Yes or No?
That's it. Those are the two categories. I either would or would not have sex with the individual.
Now, I'm married and would never be unfaithful to my wife, but the assessment happens nonetheless and I'm convinced governs a large part of how we interract with each other from that point forward. Natural selection at work perhaps.
Most people won't admit it though because they are scared or embarrassed about their primitive sexual drive. We'd all like to be more pogressive and to be more open minded, and you can certainly "warm" to people over time or recognize beauty that you at first did not see, but if we are honest with ourselves we realize that very basic impulses and reporoductive stimulations have a tremendous affect on us socially.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. :-) -
dannyvice, yes you may need to wear a raincoat, its starting to pour around here. I've got my unbrella set up over my powerbook. :-)
and I just have to respond to kdawg68, who wrote:

I don't think women size up a man in the first millisecond and decide if she'd sleep with him or not. Even though Offended Blogger says she thinks that way, I think she is an exception, not the rule.
Or am I the one that is the exception? any women out there who would like to tell us if it's true for them or not? I know that none of my friends think that way, cuz we discuss sex alot.
I posted a couple more the responses from here on my blog. -
i think people who need to talk aobut it online pretty sick and wierd to be honest and cant relly get it.

kdawg68,
thanks for defending me against that blogscrooge JamesV. You're my hero and I'd have sex with you if you weren't a horse. -
women don't think about sex the first time they meet me, but ofcourse, some do. hehe. there's just many different types of women especially when it comes to sex. when i ABSOLUTELY have nothing else to think about, i think about it..so, that's about so scarce. i don't know if that makes me abnormal. hehehe..

Well, if you saw my peep show, you'd never stop thinking about that sweet pole dance.
But seriously, there really must be something to women hitting their peak later than the guys, because I have never been so interested, willing, initiating and inventive. We'll leave it at that. =)
It's rather unfortunate that my marriage has fallen apart just when I need a guy around the most!-
Hello Ekim! I'm sorry I may not have anything to offer as far as marshmallow on a pole or a jelly shake....but I could improvise.
Yes, it must be the dirty 30's. Not sure I know what the naughty 40's implies ...but if it's naughtier than the dirty 30's I'm a little scared. Luckily I still have several years to get acclimated to the 30's first. Of course, having been with the same person for so long, maybe I've just been naive. I just don't know where all this lust is coming from. I wrote a post a while back contemplating "What makes a woman feel sexy?" Maybe the answer is simply the dirty 30's!

Have you done any research on the effects of estrogen, viagra and other sex drugs like fertility drugs on aquifers and specifically their evidence on drinking water in USA cities? I suggest that there is enough material out there to write up one hellva blog post on the subject of these drugs in municipal waste water and their effects on the environment for sure. [Hint 1: reports are available for the USA - they are shocking; Hint 2: check out the feminization of fish and the occurrence multiple legged frogs and other amphibians]
In a companion post you might like to explore exactly where the notion that old men and old women want or "need" sex drugs came from and when it arose.
Exactly how much have pharmaceutical companies invested in advertising so our elders will cash their old age pension checks and then trot off to get a "sex drug" prescription with the proceeds?
IMO if you're going to blog then don't waste your time on re-blogging subjects that have been blogged/wanked to death.

Funny you should ask that ...I just finished blogging about it...
oxymoran.blogspot.com/2008/04/couple-has-sex-for-14-minutes-condemned.html
so if you want me to include all the professional time I am FORCED to spend researching the topic for my blogs then I'll give you one answer. But if you want we to only count the time when I'm not on duty, and not thinking about it for the good of my readers,... but purely for myself... then I'll give you a different answer. So I await clarification. -

Actually, my answer would be: I think almost all the time about sex (meaning practicing, looking for it, wondering if next time it's going to be better or worst... )That happens when you don't have a regular couple like me right now.
OMG! I just recognized I like much more having a Bfriend. That's the best way to stop THINKING and START DOINGT IT.
Have a good week. Personally, I don't like Mondays... tell me why... -
wow this is a familiar thread, wigwamtheorm2 had his deleated and it was the exact same question but yet this one lives on to be drug up mmmmmmm interesting

wow this is a really old post. I think it depends on where I am, the situation I'm in, and the women around me. Like when, I'm at work or school I try to focus and not to think about sex. But while I'm out, sex crosses my mind every twenty minutes or so. However, I don't really spend much time thinking about it, maybe a second or so at a time. But, again if I'm with someone I want to have sex with then it's one my mind almost constantly. Even while I am using most of my brain power to think about other things, (conversation, or whatever) sex is still in the back of my mind. This however, is not true if I am getting a lot of sex, In that case, sex does not enter my mind nearly as much.
