The environment, the atmosphere, the toxins around us, child poverty, pride, animal cruelty, nothing? If you had the power within you to make one change in our World, what would it be?

Seconded. The economic model we have embraced is the “3 legged stool” (economy - environment - society) is a faulty model. The ground for all is the environment and humans are an integral part of it. Without it we have nothing - no economy - no society. Yet so many have bought into the faulty industry driven polluting and depleting model and that I cannot help but despair for our planet, our generation and generations yet to come.

We have established governance that only allows the true stakeholders - citizens of earth - to participate on the fringes of decision-making in a very superficial way. Corporate kings shape all government decisions. The result is that we are living in times of violent corporate assaults being waged against earths’ ecology and against humanity.
Until we recognize that the crisis in the way we humans govern ourselves is due to viewing ourselves as being separate and apart from the environment that sustains all, no real changes will be made.
So yeah, I have to say that I'm with drjay if I could I would choose undo all the damage that's been done to our atmosphere in the past two centuries....

I would like our youth to be pushed towards pursuing passions of an artistic and creative nature instead of those which result in the largest amount of wealth and material possessions.

Guys, take a look at this when you get a chance

Is there a way to post links here? Anyway, this will give you hope that there are others out there that perhaps share your feelings and are working to make changes in our education system.

I would eliminate stupidity.
Then the rest of the problems should then just get fixed almost automatically -

I would undo the loss of plankton in our oceans. That, of course would mean undoing the atmospheric damage done by chlorofluorocarbons and pollution of waterways with wastes.
20 years ago, oceanographers would have no trouble scooping up plankton by the buckets. Now I hear reports of barely an inch in a bucket.
Plankton is fundamental in the oceanic food chain as well as the single greatest generator of oxygen from carbon dioxide. Depletion of plankton would result in collapse of fisheries and accelerated global warming, more so than the demise of rain forests. -

I would like the world to give up on fear. We're much too afraid these days.

I would change the teaching - whatever teaching taught us this - that the ends justify the means, and for whatever reason, the ends with the worst means always seem to include money and power.
So, I would have to change the ideology that money and power are relevant to society.
In doing so, humans would be more earth conscious, people conscious, animal conscious etc...meaning that the damage to the Earth that we've caused would be downplayed, at least if not changed entirely, the abuse of other humans and animals would only be done by the truly sick (and they would find some sort of help - while protecting potential victims from any harm), there would be no poor, no oppressed, and equality would prevail.
because really, if you think about it, almost every problem in today's society is a direct result of greed and entitlement. -

People that adhere to removing people? Yea. Some people remove themselves, we call it suicide. Some people remove others, we call it murder. The point I was driving towards is that without people, the probability of the planet flourishing is greater. With people, you might as well say by-by to the entire planet. We are unresourceful and selfish, and will kill and destroy all other species and use up all the planets resources in no time at all.

Have everyone except boundary lines as they are and no more fighting over who owns what piece of land.

I would like to see a world where there is a limit to both wealth and poverty. I mean, how could we let some few folks live the life with riches beyond their needs while the others starve? If I can, I would steal from the rich and distribute the bounty to the poor. Those who have the means to help should not wait to see people die of hunger before they lift a finger to do something.

A better BC connection for environmentalbooty. Glad you resolved your browser issues, and welcome back!

I'd ban marzipan and those moulded hard plastic packets things like USB flash drives or cheap MP3 players come in.
I nearly forget that white polystyrene packaging. I hate that stuff unpacking anything now is like some hellish Gitmo interrogation session. -
