Open Letter to BlogCatalog Admins

This isn't so much a discussion, as a sort of open letter to BlogCatalog administrators: the people who make BlogCatalog's technology work.

Thanks! I appreciate the hard work, and the good sense you all have shown.

I didn't think of this on my own. The idea comes from another thread:

"Thanks To Those Who Helped Me In my Research Thread!" ( www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/thanks-to-those-who-helped-me-in-my-resea... )

DaneMorgan posted this comment: "Also just in case any one isn't aware, and I know a lot of people said they don't really care about whether or not they get a PR link from the directory here, but the admin team working on Sunday, got new link code in place that should mitigate and lingering doubts about the effectiveness of the links or the commitment of their site to it's members.

"Be sure to offer those guys a thank you for that hard work."

So, that's what I did.

  This would actually make sense, seeing as the place will gain from adsense anyway.
  
  The fact of having free space on the front page means more of us are likely to link to that instead of own profiles.

Truth is most of this should be props to Daniel, who doesn't just work all day but all night on BlogCatalog. He doesn't just live it he breathes it.

Let me put it this way, if the site were to go down at 4am, Daniel doesn't just get an email to alert him. He gets a text message to his cell so no matter where he is he can get online and make sure things are running ASAP.

So add my name to the list too, great work little brother.

It is often overlooked in communities that the people working behind the scenes invest a huge amount of time into keeping things running.
Also overlooked is intent. Anyone who has interacted with the Blogcatalog guys can tell how genuine they are, and how much they want to help bloggers.

There is no such thing as a miracle free traffic pill, you have to work at it.
