21 year old British student Emily Cummins has designed a simple and portable solar-powered refrigerator. Based upon the principle of evaporation it requires no electricity and can be made from commonly available materials like cardboard, sand, and recycled metal.In 2007 Emily was named the British Female Innovator of the Year, and was short-listed for Cosmopolitan’s 2008 Ultimate Women of the Year Competition.

    Wow she deserves a pulitzer prize or something.
    I love stuff like this that we can do ourselves to help make us more self sufficient and less dependent on Electric companies.
