Topics: click fraud, spammers, things that annoy endlessly
So every now and then we will see a thread that states someone requested kissing of ads or what not, but it usually only ever goes as far as a few comments, some pasting of TOS and later on the next person gets a message from them stating the same thing. Well, I say call em out. (probably a TOS violation, but what the hell? I am so sick of people telling me they have kissed ads when I am ad free).
So first up we have:

I report and delete all that I receive.
And, if I have time and the blog is on blogger, I go a step further. -
- I have clicked the spam button on the click fraud requests I have received so Admin knows who these members who are involved in and advocating click fraud are.
I'm not clear on what happens after Admin is notified. Do you know what action Admin takes after they receive the reports of the shouts advocating click fraud that we mark as "spam" ?-
- Part of keeping out community "clean" and removing the members who are harassing us with these spammy click fraud requests is the responsibility of members, who are expected to report them by clicking the "spam" button on the shout. I do that and I know many other members do also.
The other part is Admin following through in some manner. What do you think? Do we need Admin to weigh in and tell us exactly what action they take? I'd like to hear what they do to rid out community of these unethical click fraud advocating spammers.
As we are receiving more than one shout advocating click fraud from the same members over and over again, maybe Admin and the members need to brainstorm and come up with an effective deterrent, and/or a policy that results in banning when the behavior is repeated.
For the convenience of new members. here's the link that confirms that encouraging clicks on Google Adsense ads is a breach of the contract, policies and the TOS www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48182

Oh fer pete's sake, now they're "$miling" on us, too?!
Man, if they spent more time just writing good content instead of trying to come up with clever ways to work dollar signs for "S" in their spam messages, they'd probably get farther.
(And we'd be less annoyed)
I report 'em as spam. It makes me feel good to hit that spam button.
Or is it $pam? -
@endlesslyshesaid
- As you posted this thread I'll leave it to you to contact Admin and ask for them to post a clarification, so we all know exactly how they proceed upon receiving the click fraud shouts after we mark them as "spam".
-
I wonder how they would react if I responded with "That's great, but next time, how about you just ki$$ my a$$"
-
- IMHO sending back smart apple comments will not be effective. Let's face it, by responding with sarcasm we would be acting like this is funny business, and minimizing and trivializing the behavior that we want to STOP.
These unethical types are money motivated. IMHO the sensible way to proceed is to kick them in the wallet. When they are discovered by Google Adsense their accounts are banned and they are blacklisted.
When you receive these unethical requests go to their blogs and find the little Google Adsense logo. Click it and a complaint form will open. Scroll down and complete the appropriate fields. In the bottom box for additional comments copy and paste the PM you goy in your BC shoutbox as evidence. Then click the form closed. Lastly, mark the shout as "spam" which sends it to BC Admin. FWIW I have never received a second click fraud request shout from the same members I reported to Google Adsense.

I've already been chewed out today by Daniel (thegoodknife) on this issue - since my last thread and "Call 'em Out" discussion was deleted this morning. I was warned not to call 'em out and report them instead, and instead I reiterate that I will never report a fellow BC'er as spam who comes into my private shoutbox and leaves me one private message stating he/she has kiSSed my ads and I should do the same .. no sirree.
I believe its our right to let these newbies know that we do NOT TOLERATE CLICK FRAUD and risk ruining our reputations and good standing in the google adsense community - in the public community.
I will continue to call them out every time.
In the meantime, however - i did promise thegoodknife that I wouldn't continue with my rants (after my initial one) so, I won't be naming names of the past (and using $$ in the word kiSSed too)-
- For clarity what I meant above was: publish the names on my blog. As I do not have monetized blogs this will expose those who claim they clicked my ads as liars as well as participants in click fraud. First I will confirm with the American lawyers I work for that doing so will not transgress any laws, Terms of Service or guidelines and if not then I will proceed to expose them to my readers.

@Daniel
- Thanks for your reply. I guess I'm doing all the right things already. I do have another question though that arises from what TonyB said just below this entry.
He says: Google will penalize BC too when they see requests from our members for ads to be clicked.
My response is: Oh no! I don't want to do anything to harm BC. Would it be better for BC if I do not copy and paste the text from the click fraud shouts into the Google Adsense complaint form?
-
Google will penalize BC too when they see requests from our members for ads to be clicked. We are adding some additional ways to id ki$$ requests.

well the good news is that we are removing about 10-15 of these users a day. bad news is they just keep coming.
-
Is there anyway to establish if someone's blog may be suspicious when they request to become a member? Wait, let me try that again - is there a similarity between blogs of members who like to kiss and hug and smile ads that you can identify so as you can prevent a good deal of them from even getting into BC and spamming and such?
-
I wonder if some of them come here with good intentions, get that message from a spammer, and think that it's an ingenious (and acceptable) method of making money, particularly if English is not their first language and they have difficulty communiciating well in it. I can just picture someone thinking, "Oh, I never thought of that!" and diligently spamming the heck out of people because they are such noobs that they don't know any better.
