I think a balance between them would be perfect. Wealthy enough for get healthy, and healthy enough to enjoy wealth.
    1. footiam
      We must everything, why not?
    1. reddrvn
I completely agree with that and couldn't have said it any better.
  2. carlgalloway
A sense of humor, without which I could never laugh at the adversity the universe has placed in my path, or enjoy the sense of irony that despite it all I'm happier not being rich
  3. boazstuff
wealth is impt but nothing can buy good health. If you have good health, that's wealth by itself. Also, if you have good health, you will be able to spend time growing wealth, if you like.
  4. acousticguitarist
Wealth is more important than anything else. I have a good reason for saying this. We are by nature in essence God, the God within/around/beyond us is a creator. If we are not capable of creating wealth it means we are not living our potential as the Gods that we truly are. So really what I'm saying is the most important thing is to express as Gods not as abysmal failures that are weak, suffering from poverty mentality or the inverted ego expressing as a false sense of humility. And if we can create wealth, we can create health and if we have those we will also have happiness because we know who we are. It's contrary to common belief but I don't really give a stuff about that.
    1. carlgalloway
Right, so corrupt people who manage to siphon off billions of dollars at the expense of the rest of us should be congratulated and held in the highest esteem for being so pious?
    2. acousticguitarist
That's your view of reality. Just because they don't have virtue is not my issue at all.

Integrity is a very important thing to me, you have jumped to a conclusion, that is not what I said at all.

The most wealthy people in the world don't even make it to the lists of most wealthy, they hide. Yes people are stealing billions for their devious projects, that's not my business.

I'm not big on piety, it's a false sense of holiness, howver, I am big on compassion, Truth, Love, Dharma.

You are welcome to hate them if you wish, that's your choice not mine.

A person is no lesser man because they are wealthy but if a person chooses poverty, they just have to live with it. It is a choice because deep down they feel that they are worthless.

I never said all wealthy people are good, I said that the ability to create wealth is n expression of God. God doesn't discriminate when it comes to the creative power. Only man does that.
    3. carlgalloway
Did I say I hate wealthy people? You really need to be more careful with your interpretations. As for the rest of your opinion, I very much doubt that most people living below the poverty line want to live like that. In a lot of instances they are powerless to change their destinies due to politics and the exercise of absolute power in the hands of dictators or those who seek wealth and power at the expense of the poor.
    4. acousticguitarist
No you didn't say that exacrly, but you did imply they weren't your best buddy. The word wasn't hate true, you'd be the only one who'd know your true feelings, and I guess it's not my place to say something like that, apologies...that's the issue with the screen between people and not being able to see expressions. And

As or people being powerless I think that's nonsense. People create their own realities. They choose where they are born, their circumstances, the day of their breaking out of it. Or do you think that some shameless God Being throws everyone into the world to suffer? people choose so they can experience different emotions, joy, pain suffering...the problem is people keep choosing the same negative ones, over and over...never breaking free. That's their problem. From a normal point of view what I've said sounds pretty aweful, I know this. But my perspective is that we are all creating our own reality. And people keep feeding themself bad experiences until one day someone says 'hey wait a minute, you don't have to live like that'. I came from a family that at one point of my childhood life, the only money we had was what we found on the street, that taught me a lot about poverty and wealth. Then my son died, that was greatest teacher, for many it's a tragedy but the things that look like our enemys are really gifts to turn us into greater human beings.
    5. carlgalloway
I'd love to know how you came to believe we choose where we are born, and under what circumstance. Its an argument I haven't come across... and frankly one I don't think I could agree with.
    6. acousticguitarist
Oh, I think a number of people someone would have that view. Some of the Eastern faiths would be vaguely similar but that's not important for me, they can believe what they like, that's their business.

Before we are born a part of us, call it whatever 'soul, spirit thingy' makes a decision on where we will be born, what experiences we need on our journey down through time from unconscious to conscious being.

It doesn't bother me if no-one agrees with me to be honest with you. I think what is important is our own personal experience, and if it's not true for you well maybe it's not real. Although I would come across as a total nutcase for saying this, I comfortably travel in and out of the body. The therapists have names for this, but they are often very limited in their thinking but well studied. But I am very down to earth regardless of this experience and a slightly unusual view of reality. I'm not sure if the Maori culture has a similar view, however it takes three days after death for the Spirit to move on, that's why the wake is three days, also in othe cultures too.

The other view instead of making a conscious choice before birth, is we are thrown into the world at random places, no paddle, just sort of have to make the best of our circumstances. If a person was religious, their God would have to be pretty mean to do that and very unfair to some and very very kind to others.

Tony, interesting views...I don't share some of them but I appreciate your thoughts.

    Health and then wealth.
Money is not evil; it is the LOVE of money that is at the root of all evil.
    1. footiam
Love of money is not the root of all evil; you can love money and obtain it legally without hurting others.
    2. morgantj
      right footiam.
    3. DeadRooster
It is THE LACK of money that is the root of all evil.
    4. manumartin
It should be parallel.. I mean what is the use of wealth .. if you are not in a position to enjoy.. vice versa... what is the use of health if you are not making good money!!!!
  6. Anok
Health IS wealth. Wealth need not only pertain to fiduciary assets
  7. footiam
    Health will deteriorate without wealth!
    1. Anok
Not necessarily. Unless you contract some horrible deadly disease - there are more than a few natural ways to keep yourself healthy, without it costing a dime. We are just taught to believe we MUST have money in order to survive. When in fact, we don't.

For the record though, and just because I'm wired and persnickety tonight - "wealth" is very different from "money" financially speaking. Wealth is your financial worth measured by the ratio of liquid assets versus debt. The higher assets you have and the less debt you have, the wealthier you are. What you're talking about - "money" to keep your health is the expendable cash flow that is either disposable, or budgeted specifically for health care.

One need not be technically "wealthy" to be able to have the budget for proper health care.
  8. footiam
It is not necessarily; just possible.
    1. Anok
      Only if you let it
  9. F430spiderv8
wealth, because you never know when you might die from a freak accident where your heallth wont matter
    1. Anok
If your dead, your wealth won't matter either.

You can't take it with you.
  10. Greekgeek
    Health.
I would love a chance to be born in a healthy body just to know what it feels like not to hurt, for a day!

Whereas there are people who are quite happy with very little.

And I guarantee you wealth is not something God gave you-- or, by the same argument, you could say that God gave us our bodies, not our STUFF, and we should be most grateful for our bodies.

But I don't believe that (or else I'd have a bone to pick, much like Job). Some people just happen to be born into a wealthy family through sheer dumb luck, or MAYBE managed to get some in their own lifetimes, but it's a heckuva lot harder to amass wealth than it is to get blog traffic in this day and age.
  11. manumartin
Healthy people can make wealth, and When I say healthy people.. it means they have healthy mind and a great Karma. They use their health to create wealth for others.. Those are people who are today's entrepreneurs... they are investing there wealth nicely.. and getting many people employed..

Hope my point is clear... healthy people creates wealth and multiply.. it.

    1. Happiness
    2. Health
    3. Wealth
  13. sharatthakur
Health and wealth are side products, what is more important is contentment. You an millions of dollars, but yet you may be unhappy. Bottomline is we should enjoy what we do.
    1. manumartin
      Balle.. Balle.. you said right..
    2. LGramlich
      Agreed.
    3. footiam
some people are content with wealth.
  14. tfgblog
how can you enjoy wealth if you don't have a good healt?
  15. jackpayne
If you wish to save yourself from becoming a drooling headbanger, do not obsess about money.
I've seen this as being the biggest first step toward poor health--over and over again--during my long working career. Flat-out frustration being the primary cause.

If you stop trying to bang a square peg into a round hole, eventually you will get a nice "fit," a nicely rounded peg which slides smoothly into a round hole.
  16. bobonism
    Happiness!
    1. footiam
      Wealth and health is happiness!
  17. filmasia
    Both are equally important
    1. footiam
Yes, I would like to have the cake and eat it too!
  18. neobluepanther
Wealth is important, Health even more so. But when I was a kid, they told me that character is most important of them all!
    1. footiam
Wealth and health without character is like a flavorless cake with all its icing!
  19. reddrvn
I am not happy when I have no money. This makes me worry. And worrying causes stress which effects your health in sevral ways. With that being said, I need money to stay healthy. That's just me though.
    1. footiam
      With wealth,comes health, I suppose!
  20. jackpayne
Cheers! Practice better living through denial, and neither health nor wealth will matter much.
  21. chrissymarie321
    I agree with sharratthakur
    Inner peace is good....
  22. jookut
All part of life is important to me. It runs balance.
    1. footiam
You mean choose the middle way? Not too much or too little of anything!
  23. Onchong
    No health, no wealth!
  24. yonip
the more important for me is my sweetheart I love her so much, my life would be nothing without her
  25. alwayswinner786
They both go hand in hand you cannot live without wealth whereas you cannot enjoy your wealth if you don't have a good health. But health and happiness is more imortant to me because if you are healthy you can work hard and with God blessing you can accumulate wealth but with heaps of riches you cannot buy health and happiness.
    1. footiam
God should compassionately bless a person with both health and wealth.
  26. mickismorsels
My answer changes from time to time. It seems so relative. Many of us have decent health and sufficient wealth. But how does a cancer patient with no money for health insurance and doctor bills feel? Today, I think it's not about me. It's about how we treat those we encounter who lack health or wealth.
  27. witewood
Without health, you don't have a great deal.

As to money, it can't buy good health, or happiness, but it can enable you to be miserable in comfort
  28. lnclark1950
Health and wealth are nothing if one does not have something to live for. I am a Christian and like Paul I have learned to be content in having much and content in having little. Philippians 4: 11-13
    1. lnclark1950
Wealth without good health is worthless. Health with only wealth as a goal for how to apply the wealth for other people's good is greed.
    2. footiam
It'great to have a religion to shape your values!
  29. Shy
health... health as if I do not have that I can not take care of others or even myself, with wealth then what? pay people to wipe my A$$ as I am so sick I can't.. phhhh
health above everything then I can look after myself then others.
  30. dosox
Health and Wealth both plus some other things too.
  31. claudiorodval
    family, love, health and wealth
  32. opinionhun
    Which is more important?
If you are lucky enough, you are healthy when you are born. If you are even luckier, you are wealthy when you are born. The former applies to most of us. In general, people live their life trying to keep fit and healthy (something they already had)and striving to achieve 'wealth' (no guarantee they will ever have that)I am happy with what I already have, in addition wealth is nothing without health so I've found two good reasons to answer: HEALTH
  33. lordiwanttobewhole
I believe in balance, enough wealth to pay my bills, sock some away and have some leisure money. Health would be more important, buuuuttttt, money helps to have good health, to have access to better foods, meds, supportive programs that costs such as a chiropractor...etc.....
  34. byXT
Health! My dad always tells me: If you have 1.000.000, then you're rich. But if you get ill and pass away, then you have 0.000.000. So he tries to say, no matter if you're rich or not if you pass away you've got nothing left, so that's why health is the most important thing.
    1. footiam
If you have health and o.000000, you probably would not be happy
  35. siralmo
so are you suggesting a bit of both
  36. Future
Both are imp. in their own ways.
  37. sunnyberra
Trying to be healthy is expensive. So, I'd have to *be* wealthy to get and stay healthy. So wealth
    1. footiam
Sounds sensible! It's costly to go to gyms nowadays!
  38. wolfmechanics
Since wealth can usually buy health, naturally I'd choose wealth. Look at that rich a55hole Mickey Mantle who has had 3 livers, lol...
  39. nothingprofound
    Health.

And if wealth can buy health, there must be a lot of rich people in the cemetery wondering how they got there.
  40. allofarts
    hello,asian food.
  41. idealpinkrose
both, we'll lose our money if we are not healthy. if we can't stay healthy if we don't have enough money.
  42. SaNn
I think health is more important....as you have a good health, then the wealth will comes to you automatically.....
    1. footiam
I just wish wealth would come automatically.
  43. HollytheHousewife
    That'll be the day...
  44. humanbeing1940
My faculties...but then again, maybe it would be better to live in ignorant bliss.
  45. newblogmogul
They both are important but if you don't have good health then you can't enjoy wealth.
  46. siralmo
